The measurement of air pollutant emissions

The measurement of air pollutant emissions is regulated by the Air Protection Act ("Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia" No.: 36/2009, 10/2013 and 26/2021 - other law), the Regulation on Measurement of Air Pollutant Emissions from Stationary Pollution Sources ("Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia" No.: 5/16 and 10/24) and the Regulation on Limit Values for Air Pollutant Emissions from Combustion Plants ("Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia" No.: 6/16 and 67/21).

The purpose of measuring air pollutant emissions is:

  • Checking compliance with emission limit values (ELVs),

  • Fulfilling the conditions of the operating permit (IPPC, integrated emissions permit),

  • Preparing an annual emissions report,

  • Monitoring emissions in real time for major polluters,

  • Preparing for inspection or cross-border reports.

Depending on the type of plant, the most common pollutants measured are:

  • Carbon monoxide,

  • Carbon dioxide,

  • Nitrogen oxides,

  • Sulfur dioxide,

  • Particulate matter,

  • Hydrogen chloride,

  • Dioxins and furans,

  • Heavy metals,

  • Organic compounds.

EKOS GREEN GROUP doo performs service measurements of pollutant emissions into the air by engaging an authorized laboratory. Emission measurements are legally performed twice a year.
