The measurement of air pollutant emissions is regulated by the Air Protection Act ("Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia" No.: 36/2009, 10/2013 and 26/2021 - other law), the Regulation on Measurement of Air Pollutant Emissions from Stationary Pollution Sources ("Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia" No.: 5/16 and 10/24) and the Regulation on Limit Values for Air Pollutant Emissions from Combustion Plants ("Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia" No.: 6/16 and 67/21).
The purpose of measuring air pollutant emissions is:
-
Checking compliance with emission limit values (ELVs),
-
Fulfilling the conditions of the operating permit (IPPC, integrated emissions permit),
-
Preparing an annual emissions report,
-
Monitoring emissions in real time for major polluters,
-
Preparing for inspection or cross-border reports.
Depending on the type of plant, the most common pollutants measured are:
-
Carbon monoxide,
-
Carbon dioxide,
-
Nitrogen oxides,
-
Sulfur dioxide,
-
Particulate matter,
-
Hydrogen chloride,
-
Dioxins and furans,
-
Heavy metals,
-
Organic compounds.
