This law regulates the impact assessment procedure for projects that may have significant impacts on the environment, the content of the study on environmental impact assessment, the participation of interested authorities and organizations and the public, cross-border consultations for projects that may have significant impacts on the environment of another country, supervision and other issues of importance for environmental impact assessment.
The most significant changes within the Law are:
- Changes in the content of the Request on the need for an environmental impact assessment, the Request for determining the scope and content of the environmental impact assessment study and the Environmental Impact Assessment Study.
- Along with requests in paper form, copies of requests on a portable electronic information carrier (CD or USB) are also submitted.
- Extension of deadlines for submitting information and notifications to the public about all stages in the environmental impact assessment procedure.
- Greater flexibility and fewer requirements regarding system documentation.
